Been a long time since I've posted anything. Been working on a lot of different work but this is the first thing I've really finished in a while. Today is the release date of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, a very highly anticipated game, and I'm a big fan of the series. I ordered it and I'm waiting for it to arrive on my doorstep as I write this lol. The original drawing is 18x24

This last one was a design I did for the parents of my late best friend, Dean Renner. They started a Scholarship fund in his name for Nantucket High School students and graduates, and wanted something nice to promote it with visually. There's a lot of Star Wars reference on there as Dean was a big fan.

Finally getting around to uploading my finished work from last semester, which was in my senior illustration show. To start with, since I had posted some progress pics of this painting in a earlier post:
The Shirley Temple Dudes
The Event (opening chapter of Island in the Sea of Time)
Portrait of Lizz
I have one more on the way, the photo I took of it cam out bad so I have to re-photograph it.

As promised, my scan for my self portrait. I took a couple suggestions, boosting a few carefully placed reds on my left side of my face as subtle color highlights, and boosting the highlights in the hair. Very subtle contrast and hue/saturations sliders done in Photoshop.

Finished painting of my self portrait for the UMD Illustration 2011 Senior Show. I did several self portraits this semester, all leading up to this final one. It was inspired by the song "Redrum" by VAMPS. Underneath are all the reference and progress pics. I'll post a nice scan of the final soon, as this one is only done by photo.

I came up with the idea of bringing that monster to life as the original hoax suggested, but putting it in a modern Nantucket setting, tearing its way through town. There's a lone man ready to take him down with a harpoon.

Here's some progress photos for a painting I've been working on and off for a painting study I'm doing with Dave Bondar. Been working on this for a month and a half already so I really need to finish it! There's several artists I'm looking at but one piece I've been heavily inspired by is "The Carpetbaggers" by NC Wyeth: http://www.fineart-china.com/upload1/file-admin/images/new10/NC%20Wyeth-932629.jpg
