Poor Red :(

It was particularly fun for me, because if you didn't know kids, when I was your age, this was my first video game. Blue version. And there were only 150 o' them suckers. I still play the games today but everything related to the first ones makes me pretty nostalgic XD But when I first saw the stream, the one thing running through my mind was: "What the heck do the people around him think?!" Do they think, "Kids these days!" or "Does this boy need help?" or "When was the last time he got some sleep?!" Anyway I hope you enjoy the art. Nightmare

My latest ukiyo-e style painting! Hypno lulls them to sleep, Drowzee eats their dreams, and Darkrai replaces them with nightmares! Inspiration for this piece was "One Hundred Stories of Demons and Spirits by Kitagawa Utamaro (http://bit.ly/1c1EpL8), and the characters are inspired by pokemon and yokai.

Blazing into 2014!

Happy new year! Ok, I'm a day late to the party but I was celebrating XD For a lot of people I know 2013 was a terrible year. Some attribute it to black magic and unlucky number 13  I had my own share of ups and downs, but I'm very optimistic about 2014. Hopefully this piece conveys that sense of optimism to you as well  Look forward to more traditional Japanese style pieces like this very soon!

So I've kinda forgotten to update here in a little while... sorry about that! I'm better about updating my deviantart, but I'm planning on starting a tumblr and facebook fanpage soon so once I do I'll have to be better about updating everything all at once! Anyway Anime Boston just ended  it was my first time doing an artist alley and I had a blast! Thanks to everyone who came by my booth! Pokemon Fan Arts

Have this guy just in time for Thanksgiving! One of my favorite parts about Thanksgiving is Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I wake up each morning on the holiday just to watch it. Some day I'll make it to the actual thing T_T. Anyway this was a fun project to tie that parade in with Castelia city from the most recent Pokemon games, which is based on New York itself. It only seemed fit the Pikachu balloon was showcased there too! With some of my most recent Pokemon fan art, I've been attempting to make the world feel more believable. Hopefully that comes through! I'm going through a huge fan art phase right now so expect more on the way soon.

In addition, I recently started a new mini fan art project called the Pokemon Watcher's Sketchbook. In line with trying to make the Pokemon world more believable, I'm imagining myself in the role of a Pokemon watcher, attempting to capture Pokemon in the field on page. Here are my first two examples and I hope to update with at least 1 new page each week.
