Yuna
Yuna! So I've been replaying Final Fantasy X for the fourth time XD but this time in the remastered HD version for PS3. And falling in love with the story and Spira all over agaaiiiiiiin. This was in fact my first ever Final Fantasy and changed the way I thought about video games in so many ways, as I'm sure it did for many people. So I really wanted to pay tribute to it by illustrating the iconic Sending scene.
For this I experimented blending both the traditional 2D ukiyo-e style I've been using with somewhat more 3 dimensional painting and I'm pretty happy with the results! You can expect to see more experimentation from me like this in the future! Hope you like.
This is fan art and Final Fantasy X is ©Square-Enix

Twitchin'
Poor Red :(
This is my contribution to the "Twitch Plays Pokemon" phenomenon (if you're unfamiliar, this is a pretty good summary and timeline about it: http://www.dorkly.com/article/59505/the-majesty-of-twitch-plays-pokemon)
It was particularly fun for me, because if you didn't know kids, when I was your age, this was my first video game. Blue version. And there were only 150 o' them suckers. I still play the games today but everything related to the first ones makes me pretty nostalgic XD But when I first saw the stream, the one thing running through my mind was: "What the heck do the people around him think?!" Do they think, "Kids these days!" or "Does this boy need help?" or "When was the last time he got some sleep?!" Anyway I hope you enjoy the art. Download it from the link below for the full view and see if you can scope out all the references I threw in!

The Neo-Tokyo 3 Olympics - Wrestling
So as I'm sure you are all aware, the Olympics were recently on...and during that time I was rewatching Evangelion (I'd never gotten around to the last few episodes in the original series). So that's how this was born XD. I really wanted to make a tribute to that iconic battle in the 2nd episode. Decided to use the eva's rebuild color scheme to make it a little more relevant to today. Eva 01 going berserk is a totally nerdfest for me.
This is fan art and Evangelion is ©GAINAX

The Wind Rises Contest Entry
deviantART had a contest this week to create a piece of art in tribute to "The Wind Rises", Hayao Miyazaki's final film. It was a tight 5 day deadline, most of which I had to prepare for my next con which is this coming weekend, but I took a day off anyway to do it. It was my first time entering a dA contest and I felt I really needed to pay tribute to Miyazaki has he's been a big inspiration for me over the years. Anyway, hope you enjoy! Can't wait to see the film this weekend!

The Nine-tailed Fox at the Changing Tree, Oji
This one was so much fun to make! It was inspired by one of my favorite Hiroshige prints (http://bit.ly/NfwMLQ)

Nightmare
My latest ukiyo-e style painting! Hypno lulls them to sleep, Drowzee eats their dreams, and Darkrai replaces them with nightmares! Inspiration for this piece was "One Hundred Stories of Demons and Spirits by Kitagawa Utamaro (http://bit.ly/1c1EpL8), and the characters are inspired by pokemon and yokai.
